I chose this old image from the book 'The Boys Own Manual 1899' hoping that it is too old to have a copyright. The book belonged to my Grandfather and the photograph of the little boy on a tractor is my grandson. I have removed the background of this photo and placed the tractor and Joshua , so it looks like they are causing havoc at the beach and not the runaway bathing shed.

Filming our loop

We have had fun filming the Greedy Bunch. Charlotte acted Jess's part and chose to drink coffee instead of wine. Becks managed to blow pink bubbles and Patrick ate a lot of cheerios. I found sucking up spagetti wasn't as easy as it looks. I was pleased that I was hiding behind a grey wig and old glasses. I discovered it takes quite a lot of filming to catch the action that you want. We are all working on our individual clips and will combine them for the final loop.

flickr

When I saw how long the licence on flickr was, I decided there was too much to read. I also decided at this stage I have no reason to upload an image.

Case Study 3 - Oh so criminal

I think Keir Smith is right in what he did to get a message across about 'Fair use', even if what he did was illegal at the time.

Case Study 2 -Lebbeus Woods v. Universal Studios '12 Monkeys'

The wall behind the chair with the grid pattern and it's texture were the same as the drawing. Also the chair looked identical and the manner in which it was supported on the wall was the same. Lebbeus Woods has obviously had his work copied.

Case Study 1 - Bright Tunes Music Corporation v. Harrisong Music Ltd.

Both songs have a similar rhythm but the lyrics are completely different. I don't think George Harrison borrowed his musical ideas from Ronald Mack's tune 'He's so Fine' and he should not have lost the case.

Grad Show at the Blue Oyster

I found the Aroha Novak sculpture of the cardboard shelters with the video of the war scene, quite disturbing. I had already seen the complete exhibiton of her work at the Site Show and it made quite an impression. Allissia Holzers paintings were quite amazing, delicate and beautifully painted and presented.

Importing a Video

Bengal kittycat making weird noises
This was a demonstration on how to import a video from Sophia. This has nothing to do with my current projects.

The Grid

"For my next design project, I'm starting on a concept based in collage. The additive landscape is such a fascinating thing.

This was part of my exploration: make a grid, take it apart, put it back together a different way, thereby making something new.

Step Last".

I chose this image because it is similar to the work I am doing in painting. I like his use of sketchy lines and the composition. Also the grid paper it is worked on.

Useful catagories

Other categories that might be useful would be theory, drawing, painting and printmaking. Also a category for exhibition reviews could be interesting.

Which one is better Windows Live or Del.icio.us

Delicious.

What I think of Computers

I think computers are useful for emails, essays, and looking for information on the internet. Apart from the D.M.I elective we did last year, this is about all I use it for.
